I decided to kick off my walking regimen by heading out to a wellfield near my house with my daughter. It’s 7,400 acres of protected land. We can usually count on seeing a few deer as we walk. Today, we saw several deer but then I saw something on four legs that was about the same color as the deer…but was not a deer. I was a good distance away and couldn’t see it well. Our area does have bobcats, but this was too big to be a bobcat.
We beat a swift retreat and on our way out, asked an employee if there were any confirmed panther sightings. He told me there were “rumors” but no one knew for sure. I’m making sure our gate stays locked and taking my husband with me next time!

Oh wow, a panther. While it would be pretty cool to see one I think I would probably too busy running in the other direction to really get a good look.
